Artist's Comments

Well this started out good, but ended meh. Bad picture i picked really, cause the detail of the village was impossible to make out. I had to deal with it. It really started out as me just wanting to make a Scene Vector cause i figured there wasn't many of those. Well then i got lazy and put it off for a while, and it took a long time to actually to finish. Had crazy amount of layers for all those small houses, which is why the work looks weird (since the farther view has more detail). Oh well I hope you still like cause i actually put some effort into it.

The meaning is that god is all around us, and even a cat can realize this as he looks at the world. An epiphany from a cat.

Any comments greatly appreciated. Ty.

Thats amazing man.

You should try brushing more texture into it for a seperate piece, it has a ton of potential to be a realy realistic one :D

Looks awesome dude. I can't figure out why you describe it as just "meh." Advertise this around some, post-whore it up :), deserves some more attention.

I didnt even realise that was vector till I full viewed it cos it soo detailed and well done. I love the way everthing in the foreground is sharp and defined then as you look down at the sea its more hazey- it creates a superb sense of distance and scale. And also you've really captured the colours and contrast of the lighting of the setting sun (I presume it was sunset?). This is the best vector art I have seen on devaintart, honestly.
Extremely good job! keep up the great work :thumbsup::thumbsup:

Well I did have a big long comment here, but then it disappeared itself. stupid thing. anyway, I essentially agree with everything micassogta has said above me. My only criticisms would be that the large panels of blank colour on the church dont really match up with some of the other parts, maybe there's not enough variation to them.. I dont know .. And also I think the mist is kind of fuzzy and clashes with the clean, clear lines in the rest of the picture. I think the orangey-pink wall in the foreground (in the part of it that's closest to you) gets a bit too bright a bit too quickly, but other than that.. I love the colour scheme, the composition and the detail on the buildings, which I think give a great sense of depth. I love the little details, such as all the fronds of the plant in the foreground, the bars on the church window, and the masts of the sailing boats. Other than the small, nit-picking personal criticisms I think this is a truly wonderful piece, and as micassogta has said, is amongst the best vector art Ive seen on deviantart. :)

it's nice, but I don't like the constrast. If you can make the constrat better, than the picture will be awsome =)
